Why This Book? And Who Is It For?

Why? And Who Is REMÍZA Written For?

This book is not a cry for forgiveness.

It is not an attempt to seek pity.

Nor is it an apology.

And it is certainly not a manual for life.

I did not write it to cover myself in ashes, to excuse the choices I made, or to awaken sympathy.

I do not feel sorry for myself.

I never have.

This book is simply the truth—raw,

painful,

and honest.

It is for those of you who have never understood what it truly means to struggle with addiction.

So that you can see what addiction does to a human being.

How it tears a person apart.

How it steals their identity, their dreams, their values, and shatters them into a thousand fragments that can never be put back together exactly as they once were.

But—and this is important—something new can be built from those fragments.

Something stronger.

Something better.

I am not here to convince you of anything.

I am only here to show you that there is a way back...

...even if that road is never easy.

This book is also for those of you who have lost someone you love to addiction.

I know how much that hurts.

I know what it is like to search endlessly for answers.

This book will not give you all of them.

But perhaps it can show you what happens inside the mind...

...and inside the soul...

of a person who has become a prisoner of their own weakness.

Not so that you will forgive them.

But so that you may understand them.

So that, perhaps, you may find at least a small measure of peace within the chaos their addiction has brought into your life.

And it is for those of you who are standing on the edge.

Perhaps you do not realize it yet.

Perhaps you keep telling yourself that everything is under control.

But somewhere deep inside...

...you already know that it isn't.

I know this book may make you angry.

You may laugh at it.

You may reject it.

You may tell yourself that I am exaggerating.

That none of this could ever happen to you.

But somewhere, deep within your soul...

...it will reach you.

Perhaps you will not be ready for it.

Perhaps you will close it and put it aside.

But if it gives you even one reason to stop...

...to pause...

...to think...

then it has fulfilled its purpose.

This book is not a guide.

I am not here to tell anyone how to live.

I am not a therapist.

I am not a teacher.

I am simply a man who has lived through all of this.

A man who watched his own identity fall apart piece by piece.

A man who came to understand that he would never again become the person he once was.

But I also learned something else.

I learned that even chaos can become the foundation for a new order.

That even from ruins...

...something solid can be built.

Something stronger.

Something better.

REMÍZA is the story of a fall.

But above all...

...it is the story of finding the way back.

Not a perfect return.

Not a painless one.

But a return to life.

If this book helps you understand...

If it brings you even one step closer to someone who is struggling with addiction...

Or if it causes you to stop for a moment while you are standing on the edge yourself...

...then it has fulfilled the purpose for which it was written.

And if it doesn't?

Then it will simply become another story...

...one you may remember someday...

...when it is already too late.

This book is not about me.

It is about all of us.

About every one of us.
