The Book, the Second Time Around
Writing this book has been one of the hardest things I have ever done.
I had to return to my past, confront my failures, and face the truth about myself.
Every sentence felt like a step back into the places where I had failed, where I had made the wrong choices, where I had allowed my weaknesses to take control of my life.
But that is where true strength lies—in accepting the past, refusing to hide behind excuses, and choosing a new beginning.
I first began writing this book in 2015.
At that time, I was only at the beginning of my awakening—at the beginning of a journey that was more about escaping than about genuine change.
Writing became my refuge.
A way to escape my worries.
A way to forget reality, if only for a little while, and lose myself in thoughts and words.
But as my way of thinking changed, the book changed with me.
Every chapter became a reflection of what I was living through, the people I met, and the truths I gradually came to understand.
Over time, I expanded the manuscript, added new ideas, and rewrote old ones.
Sometimes I had to go back and rewrite entire passages because they no longer reflected the person I had become.
Then came the greatest test of all.
I lost everything.
The hard drive on my computer failed, and I had to begin again from the very beginning.
I thought it would break me.
Instead, it taught me one of the greatest lessons of my life:
Nothing truly worth creating ever comes easily.
At the beginning of this year, however, I told myself it was finally time to bring this book to an end.
I could have kept writing it forever because people never stop changing.
We continue to discover new perspectives.
New experiences.
New truths.
But some things must come to an end...
...so that something else can begin.
This book is not only a story about gambling addiction and personal transformation.
It is a story about what it truly means to be human.
To make mistakes.
To fall.
To rise again.
To face your own demons.
And, in the end, to find the road that leads to freedom.
Every word in these pages is true.
Because they were written with my own blood...
...my own tears...
...and my own hope.
I truly hope this book will speak to you.
You are about to read stories that may shock you.
My only hope is that you will not judge me...
...but understand me.
I do not claim to have the right to give advice.
Everything you will find in this book is simply my perspective and my own experience.
You may take something from it...
...or nothing at all.
That choice belongs entirely to you.
Thank you for your support.
And thank you for taking an interest in my story.
